Setup and stowing

Setting the Kingfisher Bimini up is really very easy and can be done on the water by one person in less than a minute. Everything is designed to make it easy for you.

When the KingFisher is folded up fully in the vertical position, the locking pins can be quickly and easily removed from either the front or rear mounting brackets enabling it to fold over either forward or backwards into the horizontal position for storage during road travel. Two high quality bungee cords are supplied to securely hold the bimini in place during travel.

The first part of the setup is standing the KingFisher up and pushing the locking pin into place, the next is taking the supplied travel sock off. The sock is large enough to easily fit the contents inside and the large teeth on the zipper make it a breeze to put on and off.

The front and back of the bimini have two strong straps with stainless press buttons that hold the bimini cover in place. Once they are unclipped, undo the cam leaver at the bottom of each side of the A frame and in equal parts gradually slide each side up until the frame is fully up in the horizontal position. The end should be pushed up so that the cam lever is underneath the edge of the bimini cover. Turn the cam lever and lock it in, repeat on the other side and you’re already finished! It really is that simple!

Pulling it down is just as simple with it taking only a small amount of time longer to roll the bimini cover up. It is recommended that you fold the edge of the bimini top in, then roll the remaining bit up then secure it in place with the strap before doing the other edge. Once one side is secure you can do the other side before putting the travel sock on.

The KingFisher is unique as it can be set up with the whole cover up or, depending on the activity you are undertaking, you can fold the front or back half away separately shading just half the boat. The boat can travel with one side folded away but extra caution should be used when this is done.
