“I live in Broome and fish in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, just getting the canopy to Broome involved a 4800 km road journey. I was very impressed with the communication from your company throughout the whole process.
The packaging was excellent and all issues with the freight were quickly solved by yourself again with great communication.
The canopy has been used 75 days in the last 12 months alone and every time we have it up it attracts a lot of attention, as we fish in shade and other boaters are getting cooked in their boats. We do a lot of Barra and Giant Threadfin fishing both with live bating and lure casting or trolling. The canopy has been fantastic, no stupid straps to get in the way and it’s very strong and stable.
Not only does it provide shade from the 40+ degree sun it keeps us dry when the rains come, very impressed.
Having the ability to fold down the front section in seconds to throw the cast net for bait is great, or fold the whole canopy down quickly so we can access small tree-lined creeks for crabbing or retrieving the odd wayward cast lure in the mangroves is also very handy!!
Fighting Barra and threadfin salmon with the canopy up is no problem as the support arms don’t pose too much of an obstruction when the fish circle the boat. We throw lures from the front deck and use the canopy to keep our balance so we don’t end up in the water with the crocs.
We have found that a good coating of silicon spray on the sliding parts of the canopy makes it easy to put up and down as it doesn’t attract dust like CRC or DW40 like products.
We drive a lot on corrugated roads and the canopy travels without issue folded down and secured. We have placed some old stubbie cooler/wet suit material on the points of the canopy where it rubs together to prevent damage.
We have also towed the dingy as a tender throughout the Buccaneer Archipelago with the canopy secured in the down position without issue.
It is a great product, strong, well designed and manufactured.
